If you have selected multiple features of different types, each set of features is grouped into its own tab in the Results window. When you select new features, the newly selected group is automatically displayed on a tab in the foreground. All previous selection groups are now considered inactive and display on tabs in the background.

When a selection group is activated, the group displays in the foreground of the Results window, and the features are highlighted on the map. If the Zoom to Selections option was selected in the Options window of the Selections dialog box, the map is also adjusted to a map scale where all items in that group are displayed.
