Map Tools : Viewing map information : Creating charts

Creating charts
You can create charts from data using one of several chart types to provide a visual representation of the map data.
1.
The Chart window opens.
2.
In the Data Source field, the selected data to chart is displayed. This field is read-only.
3.
In the Label field, select the type of data from the list that provides labels on the chart.
4.
In the Value field, select the type of data from the list that provides the data values on the chart.
5.
(Optional) In the Normalization field, select the field whose value will act as the denominator to obtain a normalization value (Value/Normalization = Ratio) from the Value field.
Normalization allows you to divide one value by another to represent data as a proportion or ratio. You select data to map (numerator) and then select additional data to standardize against (denominator). For example, normalizing (dividing) total population by total area yields population per unit area (density).
