Deleting features

After selecting the feature to delete, ensure that the check box for that feature has been selected in the Results window—features that do not have their check box selected will not be deleted.

1.	If the Map Tools pane is not expanded, in the map viewer, click the Map Tools button.

2.	On the Map Tools pane, click the More Tools button and then click Editing. The Editing window opens.

3.	In the Edit Layer field, select the layer where you want to delete features.

4.	Click the Start Selection for Editing icon . The Selections window opens.

5.	Click a selection tool appropriate for the type of feature you want to delete.

6.	Select the feature with the tool. The results are displayed in the Results window and the features are shown on the map.

7.	Click the Delete Feature icon . The selected feature is deleted.
