A map tool that displays data associated to the selected map area and layer. The Identify tool is represented on the Map Tools toolbar by an icon in the shape of the letter i. Information can be viewed by selecting the Identify tool and clicking an area on the map. This action opens the More Information dialog box where information can be viewed for the selected layer for that map area. See also layer.
