Using the Change Detection tool

The Change Detection tool lets you either swipe, blend, or flicker any layer.

1.	If the Map Tools pane is not expanded, in the map viewer, click the Map Tools button.

2.	On the Map Tools pane, click the More Tools button and then select Change Detection. The Change Detection window opens.

3.	Select the required overlay map.

4.	To swipe a layer, click the Layer Swipe tab.

5.	In Layer Swipe, you have the following options:

•	SpyGlass Swipe

This option lets you view only that part of the map where the spyglass will be hovered.

Click SpyGlass Swipe option and then hover on the map.

• Horizontal Swipe

This option allows you to horizontally swipe the map. In addition, you can set the animation and adjust the speed and step size.

 

a.	To swipe the map horizontally, click the Horizontal Swipe option .

b.	To set the speed of the animation, type the specific speed value seconds in the Speed field . Alternatively, you can even select the required value by clicking the up and down arrow.

c.	To set the step size of the animation, type the specific value percentage in the Step Size box . Alternatively, you can even select the required value by clicking the up and down arrow.

d.	In addition, you can use the slider to set the animation.

e.	To start the animation, click .

f.	To move the animation forward, click .

g.	To move the animation backward, click .

h.	To reverse the animation, click .

i.	To stop the animation, click .

Horizontal Swipe

•	Vertical Swipe

This option allows you to vertically swipe the map. In addition, you can set the animation and adjust the speed and step size.

a.	To swipe the map vertically, click the Vertical Swipe option.

b.	To set the speed of the animation, type the specific speed value seconds in the Speed field . Alternatively, you can even select the required value by clicking the up and down arrow.

c.	To set the step size of the animation, type the specific value percentage in the Step Size box . Alternatively, you can even select the required value by clicking the up and down arrow.

d.	In addition, you can use the slider to set the animation.

e.	To start the animation, click .

f.	To move the animation forward, click .

g.	To move the animation backward, click .

h.	To reverse the animation, click

i.	To stop the animation, click .

6.	To blend the layer, click the Layer Blend tab. This option allows you to fade out a particular layer while fading in another layer.

In Layer Blend, you have the following options:

•	Start Opacity: This option allows you to set the value to start the opacity for blending the layer.

•	End Opacity: This option allows you to set the value to end the opacity.

Animation

a.	To set the speed of the animation, type the specific speed value seconds in the Speed field . Alternatively, you can even select the required value by clicking the up and down arrow.

b.	To set the step size of the animation, type the specific value percentage in the Step Size box . Alternatively, you can even select the required value by clicking the up and down arrow.

c.	In addition, you can use the slider to set the animation.

d.	To start the animation, click .

e.	To move the animation forward, click .

f.	To move the animation backward, click .

g.	To reverse the animation, click .

h.	To stop the animation, click .

7.	To flicker a layer, click the Layer Flicker tab. This option allows you to view the layers beneath a particular layer by turning it off and on

In Layer Flicker, you have the following options:

•	Start Opacity: This option allows you to set the value to start the opacity for flickering the layer.

•	End Opacity: This option allows you to set the value to end the opacity for flickering the layer.

•	Speed: To set the speed of the animation, type the specific speed value seconds in the Speed field . Alternatively, you can even select the required value by clicking the up and down arrow.

8.	Click Apply to apply the settings.

9.	Click Stop to stop the flickering.
